Engineered for wind,
or it is not legal.

A screen enclosure is a permanent structure, not a garden addition. It needs a permit, an approved product specification and an engineered wind load — and the ones built without all three come down first.

What we build

Four things, engineered and permitted

Three things to be clear about. Screen enclosures, pool cages and carports are permanent structures needing a permit and an approved product specification engineered for the wind load at your address — we will not build one without both. Where a structure forms part of a pool barrier it is built to the statutory height, gap and gate requirements. And engineering to a design wind speed is a code requirement, not a warranty: nothing here is guaranteed against hurricane-force wind.

Frequently asked

The questions we get most

Does a screen enclosure really need a permit?

Yes. It is a permanent structure in a hurricane zone, and it needs a permit plus an approved product specification engineered for your site. Unpermitted ones cause problems at resale and with insurance claims.

Will it survive a hurricane?

Nobody can promise that. Structures are engineered to a design wind speed because code requires it, which is a standard rather than a guarantee. Screen is also expected to need replacing periodically.

Why is your quote higher than the other one?

Often because ours includes engineering, the permit and the inspection. Ask the cheaper quote whether it is permitted — that usually explains the difference entirely.

My enclosure surrounds the pool. Does that change things?

Considerably. It then forms part of a pool barrier, with legal requirements for height, gaps and self-closing self-latching gates. We build to those and will refuse a design that does not meet them.

Do I need HOA approval?

Probably, and that part is yours to obtain before we start. We will tell you what the association will want to see, but we cannot approve it for you.

Can you just screen over the rotten fascia?

No. Cladding over rot hides it while it spreads. We replace the timber first, which costs more now and far less than a roof repair later.
